Indie Book Reviewers – Help Us By Reviewing Our Books!

I realized this week that we have given away hundreds of copies of both ZKS books, and very very few of our readers have bothered to review them on Amazon. And even folks who requested the books have also not reviewed them.

While it is always understandable that indie book reviewers, like everyone else, get busy or forget, I have always tried to review anything I agree to as soon as possible, especially when I get the book or product for free. It takes little effort on my part and helps someone else out. A win-win!

That said, we would love some new reviews!

If you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, our books are free!

If you subscribe to Amazon Prime, you can borrow both books for free!

And if you contact us and want to read and review, I will send you copies for free.
Zombie Killing Stoners, Episode 1: Rescuing the Samoan Princess
Zombie Killing Stoners, Episode 2: The Coming Storm

So, if you review indie books, and zombie books in particular, let us know in the comments below and we will hook you up. All we ask in exchange is a review on your blog and on Amazon.

Thanks!

Our Zombie Novels are Free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers!

Check out both Zombie Killing Stoner Episodes on your Kindle Unlimited subscription.

When C. Che and I first heard about Kindle Unlimited, we were fascinated and both subscribed immediately.

Why?

Well, we love independent, self-published authors (being that ourselves) and we love to read a lot on our Kindles. Since Amazon is actually paying authors whose books are enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, we figured this would be a great way to read tons of great books and support or colleagues.

Plus, since our books are enrolled, we wanted to see what the user experience was like.

As usual, the user experience is seamless. We can read up to 10 books at any given time, and then return them to get more.

Authors are paid as soon as a reader makes it past the 10% mark of the book, so it is a fair deal for everyone.

And it’s only $9.99 per month!

So, what are you waiting for? Zombie Novels are Free!

Support independent authors and subscribe to Kindle Unlimited.

And of course, check out Zombie Killing Stoners Episodes One and Two!

New Amazon Reviews – 5 Stars

New Amazon Reviews of ZKS Episodes One and Two Give It 5 Stars!

It is always exciting to check Amazon after doing some Kindle free days to see if any new reviews have cropped up.

Today is one of those exciting days! We have a new 5 Star review of each Episode!

Thanks to reviewer Liz Long

For Episode 1: Rescuing the Samoan Princess

It is a short book, but it left me wanting more. The lead characters are well prepared thanks to their job in the security field. One of them is a drag queen, which is well done, IMHO. There are nice details like a custom-made dress dummy for Polly included in the story, but it feels like a natural part of the story. This whole episode definitely feels like the set-up for a series, so just know going in that you won’t get closure. But that’s why it’s “episode 1” not “the whole story”!

OK, so they didn’t hire a professional proofreader – the reality is that indie authors usually can’t afford it. It’s still a fun book!

And for Episode 2: The Coming Storm

Really, it’s hard to find something different about the Z.A. This book manages to do that. As we learn early on, the building is quite secure from anyone outside getting in. It’s the first time I’ve read a book with a true safe space in Manhattan. Seeing how they keep it safe, especially given the hazards already locked in with them, and move forward should be a fun ride. This book also introduces new characters and stories from outside their building to start making the world a little fuller. I’m looking forward to seeing how they all intersect.

So if you haven’t read them yet, go now! You will be so happy you did.

We Have Real Books 0

real books

We have Episodes 1 and 2 in real paper book form – we have real books!

Maybe it’s an age thing (I am 47 and C. Che is closing in on 60), but we like to know that a book is a book.

Yes, we were early Amazon Kindle adopters and read mostly ebooks, but when you publish a book there is nothing like seeing a physical copy.

Since we used Amazon KDP so successfully to get the ebooks ready for sale, we decided to use Amazon’s CreateSpace for the printed books. Between them and our beautiful cover design by Liz Torres, our books look beautiful.

We did the inside in Garamond, so it easy to read. Each book is $6.99 and around 135 pages.

Look for us at Book Expo and NY ComicCon this year.

Also, our friends at Stuff Stoners Like are giving away ZKS t-shirts.

Giving Thanks

Even Zombie book authors need to give Thanks!

C Che and I spent our first Thanksgiving with my family in over a decade. (In our defense, we lived out of the country for 7 years of that decade.)

It was fun explaining to everyone what the books are about. Apparently zombies, high-functioning stoner mercenaries, our building in lower Manhattan, and survival are not first and foremost in most people’s minds.

This year we give thanks to:

  • The Zombie Killing Stoners fans who read our blog, buy our books, and give us great feedback (that probably means you).
  • Our friends and family who listen to us talk about our work on ZKS and pretend to care.
  • Kindle Direct Publishing for giving us an easy platform to sell our stories.
  • Stuff Stoners Like for featuring us in an awesome Halloweed interview – our first interview since Episode 1 dropped.
  • Our wonderful bud delivery service that keeps us inspired.
  • And last, but not least, Miss Smiley. For picking us to be her humans and hanging out with us for the last 8 years. Best dog ever!

New Four Star Review of ZKS Episode 1

Zombie Killing Stoners Episode 1 has a new Four Star Review

Zombies Invade San Francisco!

One of the scary things about writing and publishing your book is waiting for feedback. Will people like it? Is it worth their time and money? And, most importantly, how will you know?

One obvious method of feedback is Amazon reviews. And contrary to popular belief, these reviews are not easy to get. Many people read books that they enjoy and don’t bother to say anything!

Currently Zombie Killing Stoners Episode 1 has Eight reviews on Amazon, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. The latest review is Four Stars from T. Handel:

Zombies takeover almost from the beginning of this story, and from then forward it is one heck of a good time!

If you enjoy a fun, quick Zombie story, Zombie Killing Stoners is perfect for you. Check it out – only $2.99 for Kindle!
