Marijuana is the Safest Recreational Drug

marijuana is the safest

According to Scientific Reports, marijuana is the safest recreational drug.

We always knew in our hearts and minds that marijuana is safe. The worst thing you ever hear about our favorite plant is weight gain from eating too much.

As reported by, pot is 114 times safer than alcohol. Yes, you read that correctly. Marijuana is 114 times safer than legal alcohol.

In this study, researchers compared the lethal dose of a drug to the amount that a recreational user would ingest. With alcohol, heroin, and cocaine the lethal dose was quite close to the recreational dose (which, we would imagine, gets worse when you mix the drugs).

Marijuana, on the other hand, has a very low risk of morbidity. You can take a lot without it killing you!

“The risk of cannabis may have been overestimated in the past,” wrote Dirk W. Lachenmeier and Jurgen Rehm the two researchers involved with the study. “In contrast, the risk of alcohol may have been commonly underestimated.”

So why are we all still so worried about legalizing weed? Even the Colorado police acknowledges that crime is down and that drug use amongst teens is down since the state’s legalization of recreational marijuana.

Legalize it!

Driving Stoned

Driving Stoned is bad, but is definitely not as bad as driving drunk!

You hear a lot of complaining from the conservatives in this country about how people will get “potted up” and go driving, causing lots of accidents.

Last year, CNN took a look at a few folks in Washington state operating a motor vehicle under the influence of pot. Watch as they take a little driving test with the help of a local sheriff’s department.

Note that these folks are driving under an intoxication level that they wouldn’t have with alcohol (3-6x the legal limit), because the alcohol would have probably killed them.

Of course, nobody should drive while intoxicated on anything, since you endanger other people’s lives if you do! This is a controlled course.
